Thinking of Visiting Us?

[This information was last updated in summer 2003. For updated details, please contact gm@esd-sda.ru]

If you'll be visiting the Euro-Asia Division office on official church business, here are a few things you should know:

  • SERVICE REQUESTS: If you are coming to the Euro-Asia Division on church business, by the request of the division or any other Adventist organization, you should have a service request voted by the division. This will help us with insurance and General Conference requirements. Fill out the Service Request Form (left column) and fax it to us (see form for number).
  • INVITATIONS: To receive a visa you must have an official government invitation. The same goes for most other countries of the Euro-Asia Division. If you are coming by the request of the division office in Moscow, please complete the Invitation Form (left column) and fax it to us well in advance of your trip. If you are coming by the request of a union, conference or other organization, you must work directly with them to receive your invitation. Government regulations concerning invitations change often, so plan ahead and be patient. Invitations usually take a month or more to process.
  • TRANSPORTATION: For people coming on church business the division is sometimes able to provide transportation to and from the airport when you arrive and depart. However, we must receive your itinerary well ahead of time. We prefer to be notified as far as a month in advance if possible. Fill out the Transportation Form (left column) and fax it. Please do not assume your request has been received unless you receive confirmation from our office. We cannot transport large groups.
  • LODGING: If guest rooms are available at the division office during your trip, we may be able to provide lodging. We must receive your reservation well ahead of your arrival. Complete the Lodging Form (left column) and fax it. We request a $25 per person donation for each night of your stay. Please ask for the person in charge of guest rooms when you arrive. Please do not assume your reservation has been accepted unless you receive confirmation from our office.
  • TICKETS: If you are traveling to another destination and need to buy onward tickets from Moscow, we may be able to assist you with the process. Call our travel office (7-095-786-8150) to make arrangements for this. (Travel office hours are 10 am to 5 pm Monday thru Thursday. Moscow is eight hours ahead of EST in the U.S.) Please do not assume arrangements have been made for your tickets unless you receive confirmation from the travel office.
  • GROUPS: If you are traveling with a group, as is often the case with school mission trips, please understand that the division office is not equipped to handle large numbers of people. We are happy to provide directions to our office and also to hotels or hostels in the city.
  • REGISTRATION: You must register your passports immediately upon arriving at our office in Russia, and the same goes for most other countries in our territory. You will encounter problems when you try to leave the country if you neglect this detail. Contact our travel office when you arrive to make arrangements for registration. If you are not staying in Moscow, your passport must be registered by the organization that issued your invitation.
  • TRANSLATION/GUIDES: The division can provide names of local translators and guides. Fees vary widely. We can also provide directions for using local buses and the subway.
